Miri Rocked!

Oh yes, it did. 3 nights that left us wanting more. It's things like these that moves us on, and encourages us not to give up. The Free2Be Youth Rally in Miri, Sarawak was life changing. We saw 291 first time salvation decisions over the 3 nights (it was a Christian event). Over 1700 people packed up the hall the first two nights, and then 2000 over people flooded the final night. Some had to be outside of the hall! To see so many young people touched and transformed in their hearts by their Maker was the highlight of the trip. Nothing beats hearing someone come up to us and say, "What you shared really impacted me. I'll never look down on myself again." Simply amazing. God is more than amazing. Again and again He proves Himself faithful. We had to face some challenges (weary bodies, Andy and his chest pains, little sleep, sound system, etc.), but in spite of all that, God moved. And we'll keep on moving too...

Watch out this space for pictures from our incredible trip to Miri... we just need some time to sort them all out!

Next gig... this Friday (August 26) at Subang Assembly of God, SS13. See you all there?

AF on the WWW

Whassup, friends!

Battle of the Bands was one cool experience! Besides the responsive crowd, and the fact that we were performing on the musiccanteen truck for the very first time, we brought home with us many M&M's goodies! Haha! Our favourite would be the M&M's dispenser! You gotta see for yourself to know how cute it actually is! Thanks, M&M's! We don't yet have pictures from the gig, but when we do, we'll try to post them up here.

Altered Frequency was interviewed by Lilian Loo of genesis-people.com, and they've put the interview up on their site. Do check it out at http://www.genesis-people.com/lifestyle.htm

Schedule Updates & Kysern back from USA

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Kysern's back from the USA! Yes, in one piece, though he had a little bit of a back problem while he was there. Please pray for him, so we can see Kysern fully back in action again soon! Here's a pic of him in Time Squares, New York.

So what has else the rest been up to, besides recording the 2nd album...?

Agnel: Loaded with work, as usual, but also busy preparing for his trip to Australia. He'll be away in Melbourne from June 30 and will return to KL on July 10. Then he flies off again to Sydney from July 17 to 23, then back again for more recording!

Andy: Has been hard at work managing Flatfish Communications. Some of their latest website projects are http://www.theactschurch.org and the latest online magazine in cyberspace, http://www.think.com.my Since you're already online, check them out! :) He's also been busy writing new materials for the 2nd album... or maybe even the 3rd?

Daniel: Daniel has got his hands tied up as well... not with ropes, but with some clay modelling. It's too bad we can't show you some of the models he's created as it's private & confidential for now. But we'll say as much as he's made a really cute beaver and a really cute frog. Maybe you'll see them on a t-shirt or sold in a toy store some day? :) Besides that, he's also been collecting cooking recipes and looking in a new business venture as well!

David: Well, David's been gathering recipes as well... but these are not recipes for cooking good food, but recipes for forming a good band and performing great music with great attitudes! DG (as we so fondly call him) is in the midst of preparing a "Band/Music Cookbook." Do watch out for it! :)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here's a little update on the whereabouts of the Altered Frequency members:
Kysern is currently in the United States of America! He left on May 21 (DDM's birthday!), and will be back on June 4th. And the rest of us are still here in Klang Valley! We're busy recording our 2nd album, while Kysern's having the time of his life in New York or something. Haha.. just kidding. Well, we miss you Kysern. When you get back, you've got lots of catching up to do! :)

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
On May 21, ** years ago, Daniel Wong was born! We just wanna wish DDM (Dan da Man) a very blessed and fantastic birthday! It's just so wonderful to have you as a bandmate, but most importantly a brother and a friend. Can't imagine life without you... and we're serious!

Love,
From the rest of us in AF

We've been busy with different things--both in our individual lives and in the band as a whole. The second album is still in the works. There'll be a recording session this Thursday. We'd most probably be doing some guide tracks as well as drums. Definitely getting more and more exciting by the day! Oh, Andy just wrote a new song called "Turn Around."

Need some feedback here:
1. Any title ideas for our 2nd album, anyone? (Besides The Return of Altered Frequency, Altered Frequency Again, Altered Frequency Reprise, etc.)

2. Should we have our faces on the cover in the next album? :P

By the way, we've just been confirmed for Sonic Fest 2005 in Singapore this July! Guess who else is going to be performing? Sonicflood, Planet Shakers, and Hillsong United! Check it out at
http://www.sonicfest.net (There are pictures of us from last year's festival too)

For those who've been following, you'd know that we'll be interviewed LIVE on NTV7 today. What you might not know (and what we JUST found out today) is that we'll be interviewed in Malay! *gulp* This is going to be interesting as Malay is not our strongest language! Haha! Well, for those watching... have a good laugh :)

TOMORROW! (April 13 - Thur) 12:00PM
We will also be interviewed on the same show tomorrow at 12PM. This time, it's in English! Phew... now, this should be a little more of a comfort zone for us. Of course, you might still have a good laugh :)

So, anyway, if you're near a TV anywhere during those slots, do tune in to NTV7. "See" ya'll!

Tuesday, April 12, 2005

NTV7, Hitz FM, etc

We'll be interviewed on NTV7's "MY Entertainment" on April 13 (Wed) at 6:30PM. Every time we've been on TV, we've been nervous. If you've ever watched us before, you know what we're talking about. Here's another chance for us to "redeem" ourselves! We shall not be nervous! Haha... yea right... we'll try. If we end up being nervous again, forgive us :)

On Friday (April 15) at 11PM, we'll be on the Late Net Show on Hitz FM with Juwita Suwito as guests of Phat Fabes. It'd be our 2nd radio interview, but our first in Hitz FM! Do tune in (92.9 in the Klang Valley) if you can :)

There will also be an internet chat session on April 19, 2005 (also with Juwita Suwito and Disagree) at 8:30PM. For more details, go to http://www.aim.com.my and click on "Chat" So, if you're online then, drop by and come chat with us!

We recorded some more drums last night... the 2nd album is coming along pretty well so far.. not much recording done yet, but the momentum is building up. We're really quite excited about it... just watch this space for more updates as we move along k?

AIM 2005

Guess what? We've just been nominated for "Best New Local English Artist" for AIM 2005! We're still trying to let that sink in, though. Ask us 10 years before, and we'd be laughing at the thought. "AIM? Us?" We weren't even a band 10 years ago! Of course, it's just a nomination. We haven't won the award or anything. But for us, it's a pretty big deal already. We can only thank the Lord above for opening such significant doors for us. We can only look forward to greater things now, but we also realize that it comes with great responsibility...

To those who's been with us throughout our journey as a band, thank you. Thank you for sticking with us and supporting us. Thank you most of all for your prayers and belief in us. We hope this will go a long way.

Oh, before we sign off... thank GOD it's Good Friday!

We're back!

Nearly a year later... we are back with a new desire to update and maintain this blog! Most of the world don't even know this blog exists. Heck, most of the band members also do not know! But now we do, and those who has access to the internet on a more consistent level will TRY to update this (and the Oops website, and the forum, and any other areas that need our attention) on a more regular basis. How about that? :)
