hello friends!!!!
January was a mega blast for the band...we ended 2008 with a bang at The Curve's New Years Eve Party..it was really really awesome..and we are honoured to be given the oppurtunity to rock it out with all of you during that event...So far we've played at Groove Junction's Monday Night Rock show...I have to say, its my first time ever playing a set at Groove Junction...it' also my first time seeing rock bands play at that venue...normally used for jazz or lounge kind of bands..it was always going to be interesting seeing rock bands play at that venue...
the place was jam packed by 9.30pm...we made loads of new friends...notably, the guys from Scene At The Movies...nice Malaysian born lads who are currently based in Melbourne...go check their myspace out at http://www.myspace.com/sceneatthemovies...
Up next we'll be playing a set at Taylor's University College for their orientation party...looking forward to it...it's always nice playing to a young crowd...makes you feel young....hehe....
Now i'm pretty sure you must be wondering why i put such an emo sounding header to this post...well, let's just say that i have been doing a lot of thinking about the whole music and band scene here in Malaysia...and my conclusion, it is absolutely HARD to be a musician here in Malaysia...Try playing gigs, going for practices, going for meetings with record labels and distributors and in the daytime, work a normal day job to earn a living....trust me..you will feel burnt out after awhile.....that kind of bums me out, because there are so many AWESOME local BANDS here in Malaysia that deserve to be putting their music out there to the world, but because of the limitations that musicians have, achieving their true potential becomes secondary in life...that's just so so so sad...
I believe that we were put here on this earth to do and achieve GREAT things in life...i do not think that we were just put here to do mediocre and average things in life, like get a day job...earn enough money to survive for the month and IF there's time...go and play a gig....i believe that if we were given a talent to do something....we can do GREAT AND AWESOME things with that gift....
ANYYYYYYYYYYYWAYS....before i go on ranting like a little boy...i pray that someday, i'll be able to look back at my life and say..."WOW...i didnt live a mediocre life".. :)

+I am one that hopes the local talents here will be seen by all...for I am one that is ignorant bfor, I nvr knew M'sians had such many talents out there, juz waiting 2 be heard! N the songs u guys play are as good as outside of m'sia...keep up the great work, n hope 2 listen more from AF...=)
